*DO NOT RIDE TRANSITS ON YOUR QUEST*
::: Detailed Description :::
**UPDATE**
It's recently been changed by RavenBlack, to allow ANY Drink at the pub
be eligible for your quest, so you don't have to buy only Blood or Blood Wine
to move on to the next location. You could just buy Beer (cost: 1 coin)
throughout the entire quest. Or any other drink. The only advantage to
buying Blood, is that it gives you 2 BP plus your next direction.
Drink Prices are as follows:
Beer ----------- 1 coin
House Ale ------ 2 coins
House Wine ----- 5 coins
Brandy --------- 10 coins
Scotch --------- 15 coins
Vintage Wine --- 40 coins
Blood Wine ----- 50 coins
Blood ---------- 100 coins
**UPDATE**
Each level requires a quest to "run" from the guild to a series of
specific pubs and collect items by getting them from the bartender.
The bartender will give the item and instructions when you purchase
"a drink of blood"(*), so use your maps to plan the route to an
intervening bank to get money to pay your bar tab. These bar bills
are above and beyond the amount that the guildmaster will charge you.
Yes, that means that the total cost to get all Celerities is as much
as 31,300 coins!)
(*) The guildmaster tells you to buy "a drink of blood" which allows
you to purchase either Blood for 100 coins or Blood Wine for 50 coins.
Just remember that drinking Blood gives you +2 BP and drinking Blood Wine
gives you nothing except the item and a possible hangover ;-) Thanks to
Sir Vampyre for this clarification.
Since someone always asks, yes, you have three days to get to each new
location you are told of... Meaning you pay the cost, have 3 days to
get to the specific pub, buy the blood, get the item. Then the
bartender says you need to go to the next pub, and your new three day
limit begins then. And so on.
You cannot use transit stations to get to the pubs. If you do, you see
the following message...
------------------------------------------------------
The barman shakes his head. "Weren't you listening? You were told to
run here, not ride the city's transit system. Try again when you're
less lazy."
------------------------------------------------------
The kicker is that if you *do* use the transits, you lose the coin you
paid to do start the quest, and must go repay it and begin again
Drat...
However, for some reason, you can use teleport scrolls... Odd. Perhaps
the reasoning on this is because you have to pay so much for the
bloody things, that you spend a huge amount more, in effect, to get
the power.
But be careful. Some pubs can be huge distances away from each other, and
there is no notification if you fail your quest. It simply fails, and the
next time you go to the bar to get an item by purchasing blood, you just
get the usual bartender blurbs. Such is the game.
As with all other quest-based powers, you may only attempt one at a
time. Your current quest status (if any) is always available to you
via your 'My Vampire' link. If you try to begin another quest (or
have just forgotten where you are supposed to go next) you may look
there or you may go to any quest-based guild and talk to the
guildmaster (e.g. try to buy another quest).
