Editorial: Mar 28, 2014 Another one bites the dust.

The NightWatch has dealt with zombie invasions in the past, with entities attacking the
Graveyard en mass, while being zeroed continuously until Ravenblack could contain the
outbreak.

A second, much more sinister invasion was recently shut down by Ravenblack. Not for the
crime this entity had committed against the Graveyard in 2011, but rather for simply
attempting to deny their own identity to avoid a tavern ban which was permanently
preventing their entry.  

It was well documented, both in the NW, and in the archives of past city papers regarding
the disgusting hoax committed by Neko Demon, tali zora, Cortana and other incarnations of
this borg like creature or entitiy. Putting a false marker in the Graveyard, the one place
in our city considered sacred as it is a memorial to those who have left us and will never
return.

This action damaged the hearts and trust of many citizens, needless to say, myself
included. The NightWatch had this false marker removed, the first and only time this will
occur in city history. We also had to zero one of the incarnations after repeated attacks
on the Graveyard and NW members.  

While there was highly significant evidence to support this hoax, it was not in a format
which Ravenblack could accept for a citywide ban. As time went on, this 'entity' simply
became an outcast, banned from paper after paper for repeatedly trolling, and constantly
attempting to circumvent the bans imposed on them.  

It wasn't long before this entity earned a permanent ban from the city taverns via
Cortana, for actions and statements made against a tavern officer.    

As I later took on a double job in mid 2013, working in the taverns as an officer for RB,  
I found that there were common, minor issues that the job involved dealing with. There
were also the rare ones with vampires whose actions were so sinister I cannot even talk
about what they did, other than say they were also permanently barred from entry to the
taverns. Some also lost their access to the city for their actions, in which the tavern
security cameras always record evidence in a manner in which Ravenblack will accept.    

In December 2013, two new vampires appeared in the taverns. At first they seemed like new
members to our city. Friendly, new, and in need of assistance. One even signed up at our
own training school.        

Unfortunately, it wasn't long before I began receiving reports that these 'newcomers' were
possible reincarnations of the entity the city had shunned so long ago for its hideous
actions. It appeared these new vampires were actually befriending many of the victims that
Neko Demon/tali zora/Cortana had hurt with their actions in 2011, and were speaking in a
very similiar manner.  

As such, I attempted to warn all of the original direct victims in the taverns of this
possibility. I also began to monitor the city movements and check the id cards these
vampires used to gain entry to the taverns more carefully.

Exactly four days after their entry, I received a complaint about a dispute with one of
these 'newcomers' acting in an 'uncivil' manner towards another tavern occupant.  The
victim also managed to coax a partial admission from the 'newcomer' as to their true
identity.      

I quickly checked the recent movements of these individuals in the city, as well as those
of some of the original 'entities' and found that Cortana was now carrying a duplicate id
card that matched the ones both the newcomers had been using for entry, or rather confirmed reincarnations.

This certainly made things simpler. I entered the taverns and permanently barred both
incarnations from entry. The student was also suspended and banned from NightWatch.  
The new information was passed on to all papers, and many chose to block the
reinacarnations from subscribing to their readership.  

Things seemed to settle down after this, I kept an eye on the movements of the 'newcomers'
as well as Cortana, and found there were none. I had hoped this entity had chosen sleep,
or simply left the city.

This past Sunday, I received a warning that the 'entity' had made its way back into the
city, with extravagant claims of breaking into RavenBlacks personal database of camera
footage, also altering his database which contained the list of those barred from the
taverns to allow it easy access again via a new spawn.

I did a quick search again of all known vampires linked to this entity and it appeared one
of the reincarnations from Dec 2013, (Pickles) had seemingly purchased a new tavern id
card. This card now matched the one used by another 'newcomer' named Schlarr. I took a
look in the taverns, and sure enough Schlarr was there. I made sure they were quickly
escorted out.  

Two days later I received a call from Ravenblack, stating Schlarr was denying that they
had any link to Cortana and were appealing my actions in the taverns. Raven wanted to know
why I thought Schlarr was an incarnation of Cortana.    

I responded to this with documentation on why Cortana was originally banned by another
officer. Also how this entity had been successfully been identified, and attempted twice
to circumvent their ban by using various incarnations or spawns, yet showed matching id
cards while entering the taverns that were used by Cortana (or carrying forged cards to
unsuccessfully mislead an obvious link to them).    

Raven checked his database (which was perfectly intact) and confirmed what I had found. He
responded with news that Schlarr was indeed a spawn of Cortana with "99+% accuracy". The
'entity' was now barred from entry into the city, its spawns jailed, including Cortana.
The reason? Wasting both his and my time with constant lies.    

So, over two years later, I do feel a degree of justice has finally been done for those
harmed in the hoax of 2011.  Ironically this 'entity' was not barred from our city for the
original crimes for which they had been shunned, rather continuing to attempt entry to the
taverns with false id. Then running to RB and falsely stating their identity when they had
already been caught and identified by tavern staff, beyond a doubt.

I do not desire, nor deserve praise for this. I am simply glad that we are likely rid of
an 'entity' who was always deceptive, and never once stated remorse for their actions to
their victims. The city policy has changed to prevent such actions from occuring again. I
am hopeful that my friends who were hurt by the events in 2011, or subject to harsh abuse
from this 'entity', can find comfort from these recent events. Same for any and all who
were hurt by what occured and damaged our trust so long ago.

Good job smitty, keep up the good work on protecting whats right and good about our citizens within our beloved city.
